ABOUT

I Vision Productions was founded by LaMarr Copeland in 2015, however Copeland envisioned building a company of this sort for the past 15 years. Copeland was born in the inner city of Detroit, receiving public school education and living among drugs, gangs, and violence growing up. Copeland has been searching for answers to reduce the issues of youth unemployment rate, lack of fatherhood, and the promotion of illegal activities in low income communities. Upon Copeland graduating from high school he decided to attend a historically Black College/University(HBCU) called Bethune Cookman University located in Daytona Beach, Florida. Daytona Beach is where Copeland earned industry and school-based training in Mass Communications and small business development. After several radio and television internships, sales jobs, and providing consultation to small startup media companies. Copeland graduated with a bachelors in Communications with a minor in Speech.

Even after graduation, Copeland decided that he was still ambitions for a post graduate degree, so he enrolled back into his alma mata to strengthen his leadership skills by receiving a Masters degree in Transformative Leadership. Once Copeland returned to his hometown after working with several production companies in Florida, he began working with high school students in metro Detroit teaching skills that are employable and preparing students for life after high school. Copeland was so inspired by the students he was training to work in the field of performance arts and digital media technology, he decided to attend Western Michigan University to receive another Master Degree in Career Technical Education to better assist students on pathways for college or youth career technical education (vocational trade). Copeland is also CTE certified to teach radio/television/film. Copeland believes that the only way to decrease poverty in the inner city is to provide employment opportunities for the youth.
